Amina believes funeral service professionals have a responsibility not only to care for the deceased but also to support and uplift the living.

Her work in the community focuses on education, prevention, and healing.

Amina regularly participates in community discussions and panels to inspire the next generation of Death Care professionals.

Her conversations with students focus on:

  • So you want to be a funeral director or embalmer?

  • The emotional and spiritual impact of death, dying and grief.

  • The importance of compassion in funeral service

  •  Career opportunities within the death care profession

She encourages students to approach funeral service and another death care careers as a calling rooted in service, dignity, and respect for families.

Amina curated “Put Them Jawns Down”, a gun violence awareness initiative led by the Quaker City Alumnae Chapter. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

This campaign brings together community leaders, youth advocates, and residents to address gun violence while promoting civic awareness and community healing.

The initiative includes:

  • Community conversations

  • Youth mentorship programming

  • Gun violence + Mental Health awareness education

  • Civic engagement and voter awareness
